Former NatureWorks Executive Becomes New Independent Director

A former senior executive in the renewable plastics and chemical industry has been named to the board of directors of Tyson Foods, Inc. (NYSE:TSN), company officials announced today.
Kathleen M. Bader, 60, has been selected as a new independent director on the Tyson board. She is the former president and chief executive officer of NatureWorks LLC, which makes fibers and packaging materials from renewable resources.
Bader also spent more than 30 years with Dow Chemical, holding various management positions in the company's global and North American operations, including global business president of a $4.2 billion plastics portfolio. She has lived abroad twice.

A native of Chicago, Bader hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Mary's College of Notre Dame and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of California-Berkley.
Bader has been on the board of Textron Inc. since 2004 and was previously a director for Halliburton Company. She also served for seven years on President Bush's Homeland Security Advisory Council and currently serves on the board for Habitat for Humanity International.
In addition to Bader and Chairman John Tyson, other members of the Tyson Foods board of directors currently are Jim Kever, Kevin M. McNamara, Robert Thurber, Brad T. Sauer, Barbara A. Tyson and Albert C. Zapanta.
